Broken Heart by Angel Rose is the first book in the Broken Heart series. In this story Angel introduces us to Jenesis, the broken lead female character, Michael, then dominate lead male character, David, the father figure Jenesis always wanted but never had and a handful of other supporting characters. This is not your typical love story. This story has so many different emotions; anger, sorrow, hate, hurt and love all intertwined with endless lies, deceits, and abuse.
Jenesis is a very broken untrusting young woman who comes from a childhood full of verbal abuse, physical abuse and domestic violence. When her parents lives are tragically cut short she runs away to New York to start a new life for herself. However tragedy follows her to New York where she is unable to escape her horrible violent nightmares. Jenesis meets David and their relationship blooms full of father daughter love but then she meets Michael and falls head over heals in love and borderline obsessed. It just so happens that David and Michael can't stand each other adding another layer of drama. The author takes you on a roller coaster ride full of drama and despair, and tells a story of how everyone is intertwined and how their lies not only affects their own lives but everyone else's. Throughout the book the author constantly has you second guessing whether or not you actually like the characters and Michael is definitely not book boyfriend material.
This is a great debut novel and very well written. There are some typos and grammatical errors but nothing severe enough to take away from the story. The story is very fast passed and told in the the first person through Jenesis' point of view. There is very hot sex scenes and very graphic violence throughout the book. I recommend this book to everyone over 18 who is not sensitive to abusive situations. This story does end with a cliffhanger. I give this book 4 stars and can not wait to see what the author has in store for the next novel. I hope that the supporting characters all get their own books as well because with some developing I really feel that a couple of the other characters can have great stories.
